Studied civil engineering at the IIT, Madras. PhD in structural engineering at Rice and Duke university USA, and a doctorate in geotechnical engineering from Karlsruhe University in Germany.
He joined Keller in 1994 and worked in the company for 30 years. In 2017 he was promoted to the position of Group Director for Engineering & Operations and appointed as a member of the Board. returned to India after working overseas for 40 years. Currently advises Keller on topics related to technology and sustainability. He is the chair of the DFI of India sustainability committee. He teaches geo technical engineering at IIT Madras as a Professor of Practice. He is passionate about civil engineering and hopes to encourage today’s youngsters to take up the profession.
Dr. Vegesna Ranganadha Raju strongly believes that sustainable development is the foundation for a better future. His vision aligns with the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which emphasize ending poverty, ensuring quality education, clean water, affordable energy, climate action, and building resilient communities. For him, sustainability is not just a concept but a practical responsibility—to balance progress with environmental care, social equity, and long‑term resilience.
One of his most impactful initiatives is the restoration of Vempadu Cheruvu, a vital water body for the community. Recognizing that access to clean drinking water is both a basic human right and a cornerstone of sustainable living, Venu Sir formed a dedicated group to revive the lake. The project focuses on desilting, water quality improvement, and ecological balance, ensuring that future generations benefit from safe and reliable water sources.
Through the Prof. V. S. Raju Family Charitable Trust, he runs tuition centers and preschools for underprivileged children in Vempadu, Kopallel (Andhra Pradesh), and Telecom Nagar, Gachibowli (Hyderabad). These centers provide education from Preschool to 10th Class. Established in 2015 as a registered non‑profit, the Trust focuses on the twin states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with a mission to provide education, mentoring, and livelihood opportunities to those who need them most. This website was created under Dr. Raju’s vision to provide B.Tech and M.Tech students with a structured platform to secure internships — bridging classroom learning with real‑world application and nurturing sustainability awareness.
